From Bellingham to Ballard: “Digs” opening spices up the local furniture scene

Digs furniture and home decor store opened last Saturday, March 9, at 2002 NW Market Street. The store made the move from Bellingham to Ballard into the 4,000 square foot space next to Dakota Art.

The new home and lifestyle store is owned by husband and wife Gretchen and Ben Knudsen. The couple owned and operated Digs in its Bellingham location since 2008.

According to the owners, Digs fills a gap in our neighborhood market by stocking both high-quality independent furniture lines and distinctive modern home accessories. “There are a lot of great home décor stores in Seattle but nothing quite like Digs. We try to offer a very holistic array of furniture and lifestyle items,” said Gretchen Knudsen.

Digs carries furniture lines from household names made in both North America and Europe. Accessories, lighting and tabletop will also be featured in-store by wellknown brands including Jonathan Adler, DwellStudio, Modernica, Marrimeko and Chilew.

For customers interested in gaining inspiration for their home décor needs, Digs offers a design library with wallpaper books and fabric swatches.

The store is now open from Monday-Saturday, 10 a.m. -6 p.m., and Sundays from 12 p.m. – 5 p.m. Digs also offers an online shopping service with free shipping on all orders over $50.
