Water line repair set to close road in Carkeek Park

King County Wastewater Treatment Division staff are coordinating with Seattle Parks and Recreation staff to repair a water pipe located under the main access road to Carkeek Park (950 NW Carkeek Park Rd). During the repairs the road past the Environmental Learning Center will be closed.

To protect public safety, the road to the lower meadow, beach and wetland areas is also closed to traffic. Pedestrians can still access these areas via trails from the upper parking lot at NW 100th Pl. Flaggers will be in place during work hours to direct traffic.

The pipe that is being repaired supplies potable water needed to operate King County’s Carkeek Pump Station and Wet Weather Treatment Facility.  Crews are now working to repair the leak and anticipate the work to be finished on Friday, January 17.  Affected areas of the road are set to be repaired and repaved after the pipes are repaired.
