Ballard Library set to provide free tax help

The Seattle Public Library, United Way of King County and AARP are teaming up to offer locals free tax preparation services from January through mid-April at Ballard Library (5614 22nd Ave NW).

Drop-in tax help will be available twice a week from Monday, February 2, through Monday, April 13. The services will be available from 2:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Mondays and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursdays throughout the period. No appointment is required.

Trained volunteers will be on hand answer questions and help prepare personal tax returns. The service is not available for business tax returns. Click here to check out the documents required to receive tax help.

Due to federal budget cuts, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) is unable to provide the Library with certain tax forms and instruction booklets. Most IRS forms are available online.
