Norwegian pride lights up Ballard with King Harald of Norway

It was a proud day for our Norwegian Ballardites: King Harald of Norway’s visit drew a huge crowd at Bergen Place in Ballard this afternoon. King Harald came to the neighborhood to honor the rededicated mural at Bergen Place.

King Harald spent part of the day meeting with tourism representatives, and dropped by the Pacific Fishermen Shipyard before going to Bergen Place for the ceremony.

This was the first visit from the King in 20 years; he and Queen Sonja visited at the original dedication in 1995.
