Woman in custody after injury collision at 15th and W Armory

A woman is in custody and several other people are hospitalized following a bizarre situation that unfolded on Sunday evening in Ballard.

At about 5:30 p.m. on Sunday evening, a man reported that his female acquaintance, whom he had just met, took the truck he was driving without permission from the 9700 block of Holman Rd NW.

The woman sped off, driving recklessly until she collided into a building at 92nd and Holman. The suspect was able to drive away from that scene, and continued driving erratically, weaving in and out of traffic  southbound on 15th Avenue NW.

The suspect crossed the Ballard Bridge and collided with three other vehicles, one occupied by three woman at 15th Avenue W./W. Armory Way.

Seattle Fire responded and transported the injured to Harborview Medical Center.

Detectives from the Traffic Collision Investigation Squad (TCIS) responded and processed the scene. The intersection was closed for hours as the investigation was conducted.

The suspect, 30, was later booked into the King County Jail for vehicular assault and felony hit and run. The other victims remain hospitalized with serious injuries. This remains an on-going investigation.
