Phinney Phestivus celebration set for Friday

The annual Phinney Phestivus celebration is set from this Friday, December 9, from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m.

The event is an art walk, a neighborhood holiday party and a monkey crawl all in one. Celebrate the Phinney quirky holiday monkey lights with a variety of “phestivities.”

Locals can check out the Woodland Park Zoo’s WildLights and then come find the monkeys that “escaped” into the neighborhood.

A free Emerald City Trolley will also be in operation at designated stops along Phinney and Greenwood Avenues between 59th and 87th Streets.

Locals can also enjoy a wide variety of art, including live music, at more than 30 art walk venues. Click here to find out more.

Locals who wear an Ugly Christmas Sweater can score discounts at participating “monkey crawl” pubs and restaurants.

What about the traditional Phestivus Pole, you may ask? In PhinneyWood, it’s the old air raid tower at 67th and Phinney, dubbed the GloCone.

Free parking is available for PhinneyWood Phesitivus is available at the Zoo’s north parking lot at 59th and Phinney and at the Phinney Center.
