Ballard High coach quits over disagreement

Seattle Times girls coach of the year Karen Blair quit her post at Ballard High after a historic season, finishing fourth in the state’s Class 4A division. She said she’s quitting over “an equity” issue — the girls team does not have a team room like the boys. “They told me three days before the season started that they weren’t going to do anything different, and I told them this would be my last year at Ballard,” Blair said. This was Blair’s third season at Ballard High.
