Updated: It’s the beginning of October and we’re already getting emails from people wondering about trick-or-treating on Market Street.
As is tradition, the downtown core will hold its trick-or-treating event on Halloween, Monday October 31st from 4 to 6 p.m.
Both our community centers are throwing Halloween events on Friday, October 28th. There will be a “Haunted Bounce” from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Ballard Community Center (6020 28th Ave NW) – they won’t be handing out candy but will have fun prizes.
The Loyal Heights Community Center (2101 NW 77th St) will have a Halloween Carnival from 6 to 8 p.m. “Join us for a fright fest of activities, games and challenges. We will have an area for toddlers, refreshments and prizes. Do not forget to show us your very best costume and to bring a bag to collect your goodies,” the write-up in the catalog states.
KEXP is also holding its Halloween Kids Dance Party at The Tractor Tavern. We’ll post details as soon as they’re released.
On Sunday, October 30th, Merchants of Carkeek Plaza are hosting Halloween on Holman from 1 to 4 p.m.
Businesses in the Carkeek Plaza (9999 Holman Road NW, where QFC is) and Holman Road Square (across the street from QFC) will be handing out treats to kids dressed up for the holiday. Costumed volunteers will help people cross Holman Road. “Many stores will be running specials or sales. We will have a photographer, face and nail painting by Karin’s Beauty Supplies, complimentary chair massage by Elements Therapeutic Massage, and a grand prize drawing at 4 p.m. for gift cards donated by many of the merchants,” Glenda Poletti, the owner of Elements Therapeutic Massage, emailed us.
