Sustainable Ballard and locavores across the country are throwing out a challenge: eat locally during the entire month of September. The goal of the “Eat Local Challenge” is to raise awareness of local food by eating foods that are grown and raised within 100 or 150 miles of Ballard. They admit it won’t be easy, “It will take research and planning and a certain amount of fortitude to do it!” The kick-off to the “Eat Local Challenge” is this Monday from 6:30 to 9 p.m. at the Sunset Hill Community Center.
