Ballard grad wins Emmy

Ballard High School graduate Jean Smart walked away with an Emmy last night for her role in “Samantha Who?” The 1969 grad won the statue for Best Supporting Actress in a comedy series. Smart is no stranger to the red carpet. She won Emmy Awards for her guest appearances on Frazier, was nominated for three more for other roles and was nominated for a Tony Award for her part in “The Man Who Came to Dinner.”
