The “missing link” has been the cause of frustration for bicyclists and drivers from 11th Ave NW to the Locks. It’s a stretch of the Burke-Gilman trail that goes right along Shilshole Ave with no trail to speak of. Recently Mayor Nickels proposed funding to fill in the “missing link” by 2010. Next week the city is holding an open house to present plans for the trail. Plans for the first segment, from 11th Ave NW to 17 Ave NW, is 90 percent complete and 60 percent complete for the second segment which will take the trail to the Locks. The open house is on Wednesday, October 15th from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Adams Elementary School, 6110 28th Ave NW. (Photo courtesy of the City of Seattle.)
