The weekend events calendar

  • The new book “Norwegian Seattle.” will make its debut at Scandinavian Specialties (6719 15th Ave NW) Friday from 5 pm until 7 pm. There will be food, wine and krumkake.
  • Help Energy Cafe (5905 15th Ave NW) choose which Chai’s to carry. On Saturday, 2 p.m. taste 8 different Chai Teas you’ve probably never heard of.
  • Saturday is the 6th Anniversary party for Laura Bee Designs. The party and open house runs from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. They’ll debut a collection of extra special, one-of-a-kind bags.
  • The Crown Hill Project Working Group is proud to sponsor the 2008 Crown Hill Arts Festival on Saturday from 6 p.m to 10 p.m. The festival is held at the Crown Hill Activities Center, 9250 14th Ave NW (downstairs in Small Faces Preschool Building).
  • Saturday night at 6 p.m. is the monthly Ballard Art Walk. As part of the Art Walk, the New York Fashion Academy will be holding a silent auction to raise money for their annual fashion show.
  • The Phinney Neighborhood Association is throwing its annual winter beer taste on Saturday night. Always a neighborhood favorite.
  • A little flea market action is coming to the Tractor Tavern on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Lots of vintage goodies (clothes, housewares, etc.), records, books, and other fun odds and ends will be for sale.
  • For live music, check out the calendars for the Tractor Tavern, Sunset Tavern, The Bit Saloon, High Dive, Conor Byrne, Egan’s Ballard Jam House and Nectar.
