Weather impact mild so far, more snow looms

While a few neighborhoods like West Seattle have been slipping and sliding, Ballard has emerged without any significant weather impact so far (other than Seattle Public Schools District starting two hours late today.) In fact, shoppers made a respectable showing over the weekend despite the cold, much to the delight of Ballard businesses. But a snow event is in the forecast for late Tuesday night into Wednesday, promising to throw a wrench into the work week. And as KOMO TV’s Jim Castillo explains, “(Long-range forecasts) have been have been hinting off and on of perhaps some widespread, large-scale snows for the weekend before Christmas, perhaps stretching into Christmas week.”

We’ll have extensive coverage of the snow, beginning on Tuesday night here on MyBallard.com. In the meantime, enjoy those beautiful views of snow-capped mountains today and tomorrow. (Photo snapped from Sunset Hill Park.)
