Final artist chosen for utility box beautification

The next stage of wrapping Ballard’s utility boxes is underway, with the final artist chosen for designing the two remaining boxes.

Three artists were in the final round, with each offering an example of their art that was voted on by followers of the Visit Ballard Facebook page. Sarah Robbins was selected by popular vote; her designs will be wrapped on boxes at Ballard Commons and the intersection of 24th Ave NW and NW 56th St.

You may have seen Robbins’ art before; she’s also created designs for Whole Foods, Lululemon, and Cupcake Royale.

This project is funded through a grant awarded in 2019 from the Seattle Department of Neighborhoods Small Sparks Grant.

The final boxes will be wrapped sometime this summer.
