Traffic lights adjusted at 8th & Market

The traffic light at 8th and Market has given many drivers headaches recently. Deborah Young was among several drivers to complain about the left turn arrow. “On a good day maybe two vehicles can make the turn, three if you push it into the yellow light. I’ve seen vehicles backed up eight deep trying to get through that light,” she tells the Seattle PI. Brian Kemper, Seattle’s traffic signal manager says the lights were retimed for traffic flow, but apparently the left-turn arrows weren’t adjusted to allow enough cars through. He says the lights have been retimed and those left turns should be easier.
