Last week we wrote that the Ballard Food Bank has decided to temporarily close the soup kitchen that serves lunch on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at Calvary Lutheran Church. In a letter to neighbors, the executive director and president of the board wrote, “Some people who attend the lunch program have not maintained a standard of behavior that is appropriate or respectful.” Today, the Phinney Neighborhood Association tells our sister site, PhinneyWood, that they have no plans to stop serving lunch on Mondays at the same church. They say they have never had any problems with the soup kitchen clients.
