If you’re curious why the flag at Ballard High School is flying at half staff today, it’s in memory of a Washington soldier who was killed in Germany.
Pfc. Court D. Haugen, 23, was hit by a train on March 11th. He was an infantryman assigned to the 2nd Stryker Cavalry Regiment in Visleck. He was returning to Fort Lewis after serving 15 months in Iraq.
