Busy night along the Ship Canal

Updated: A large contingent of firefighters responded to the end of 32nd Ave. at the Ship Canal a little after 8:30 tonight. A woman was riding her mountain bike and fell down the slope into the bushes. The fire department called out its rope rescue team, but they were able to walk her and her bike out unharmed.

Then at 10:45 p.m., a large fire dispatch responded to a report of a fire on board a 50-foot ship at the end of 26th Ave. Turns out it was an electrical problem in the ship’s stern. (Thanks for the tips everyone!)

  1. I'm having a hard time trying to figure out where this woman could possibly have fallen to require a rope rescue. was she by that new litte park right under the bridge (with a path that goes down towards water?) there just aren't that many 'drops' in this area where I would expect a bicyclist.

    anyone there to clarify?

  2. Marci–thanks, but actually I had managed to read all three sentences from the article.
I know she didn't NEED the rope rescue, but obviously it was called in as such. That whole area is pretty flat so I'm just trying to figure out where a 'possible' rope rescue might occur.
