Snuggie crawlers descend on Old Ballard

Blue Snuggie blankets were the fashion statement in Old Ballard on Friday night for Seattle’s first-ever Snuggie pub crawl.

While most wore their sleeved blanket with a rope or belt around their waist, some came decked out like the “Snuggie Princess” and the cowgirl. Event organizer Sheena Kalso says that 150 people turned out.

It was bizarre, to say the least, to see groups of snuggie-wearing pub crawlers intermingled with the Ballard Jazz Festival crowd.

  1. Have another drink people. Sorry, but you look stupid too. Nerds in pajamas next on Oprah. This was a fund raiser? Silly at best. I must be getting old.

  2. Cute outfits! There is more creativity involved in personalizing one's snuggie than I could have imagined! Is this what fashion designers do when they go out at night?

Any idea how many cans of food they raised?

Let's hear it for fun and silly food-raising ideas!

  3. Darn. I must've been in the wrong bars last night. I didn't see any of the snuggies. Sounds like they were having fun, though. We need a little fun around here. And it was for a good cause too.
I'd like to hear the amount of food brought in too, when anyone gets that report.

  4. Becca, check the PI. They have a few Loft photos online. Looks like they had a lot of fun. Wish I'd bought a Snuggie and joined them. :-)
