One of Ballard’s favorite summer events, the Nordic Heritage Museum is holding its 26th annual Viking Days celebration this weekend.
We stopped by this Saturday afternoon for some of the Scandinavian entertainment, food, demonstrations and arts and crafts.
The Nordic Spirit, the freshly restored replica of a Viking ship, is on display.
Of course, the Scandinavian food is always a hit, like the Swedish meatballs (above), Norwegian lefse, Danish æbleskiver, and Finnish and Icelandic goodies.
Here’s some video we took around the event today, and remember, Viking Days continues on Sunday. The very popular Traditional Swedish Pancake Breakfast takes place from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., and the event goes all day. Tickets for the breakfast: $6 children, $8 members, $10 non-members.
