This summer, 29 Seattle fire stations participated in the annual “Fill the Boot” campaign to raise money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
Ballard’s own Station 18 raised more than any other fire house and collected a department record $24,662. This earns them the “Coffee for a Year” prize for being the top house, according to The Third Rail, the Seattle Firefighters Union Local 27 publication. Overall Seattle firefighters broke the northwest region record by collecting $131,000. Good job, Ballard! (Thanks, Shawn for the tip!)
