Rollergirls at Ballard Farmers Market

The rocking Rat City Rollergirls along with some folks dressed as giant carrots chanted, “Take the pledge” at the Ballard Farmers Market today.

It was all to promote Cascade Harvest Coalition’s “Eat Local for Thanksgiving” campaign. The pledge, which is available online here, is to eat at least one local food at the Thanksgiving table this year.

  1. You can become even more involved in the Eat Local for Thanksgiving campaign. After taking the pledge, submit your own short video pledge at http://www.eatlocalvideo.com and be entered to win 6-months of Taylor Shellfish, a Sur La Table cooking class, a set of autographed cookbooks, or a two-year subscription to Edible Seattle.

  2. Did anyone know that the Rat City Rollergirls have a new practice home in Ballard? Yep, the girls have the Rat's Nest over by the Yankee Diner.
