It seems the first major wind storm of the season is upon us and this may be just the beginning.
PhinneyWood took this picture early this morning of a tree that fell onto two houses on the 100 block of 78th Ave N. One of the homeowners says they heard “a crack and a crash. I thought it was lightning.” Everyone got out of both houses safely.
The windy weather is expected to continue. King5.com says, “In the greater Seattle-Tacoma-Everett areas, south winds will increase to 30 to 40 mph with gusts to near 60 mph after midnight on Monday and will continue into Tuesday morning.” Heavy rain is supposed to come along with the high winds. Cliff Mass says in his weather blog that, “We will see huge amounts in the Olympics and northern Cascades, some Olympic slopes getting more than 10 inches.”
Here we go…Winter storm watch 2009!
Wetpocalypse 2009!
78th Avenue ???
Well okay, N. 78th Street. The important thing is that a TREE fell DOWN!!
BOOM!
or CRACK!
Anyway, more of that soon enough!
Ack! No kidding! I'm surprised everything is still standing on my own little corner!
Glad everyone got out of that one okay.
And today is Garbage day, does that mean the wind will knock it all down and blow things all over creation?
I LOVE windstorms on garbage day!!! thanks for reminding me e-dog!!! I'm going to go shred some more confetti, er recyling right now.
That's a pretty house, nice classic Craftman. Old growth construction vs old tree. Who will win.
