New shops open just in time for Christmas

In the industrial part of Ballard, a small chocolatier and French importer are now open for business.

Eat Chocolates and Anne Au Soleil French Imports have opened in this little house at 621 NW 45th Street.

The new chocolate shop is a gourmet chocolatier that will make you custom chocolates, teach you how to make your own, and will cater your event. They also sell unique chocolates available for Christmas, such as chocolate dipped candy canes (small is $0.50/large $3.)

Anne Au Soleil French Imports offers a variety of pottery, soaps, linens and purses from the Provence region of France. Right now many of the items are discounted for easy holiday shopping. (Thanks Julia for the tip!)

  1. Speaking of chocolates, no one mentioned that the chocolate shop on Market west of 17th has left Ballard. Don't recall where he went.

  2. I just looked it up. It was Claudio Carollo Chocolates and he moved to South Lake Union on Westlake. His uniqueness was that the chocolate came from old growth stock from an island off the coast of Africa.

  3. Anne makes truly the most beautiful chocolates I have ever seen. Everyone of them is an edible gem. I wish her best of luck with her new business.

  4. They taste better than they look too! honestly. The shop is lovely and inviting with a wonderful atmosphere, lots of treasures in the shelves, and tasty samples up front! Beautiful to the eye and the palate! Yum! –Laura
