Dozens get baseball tips from a pro

More than sixty kids from the area gathered at the Ballard Boys & Girls Club last weekend to get some tips from a pro.

Ryan Roland-Smith, a pitcher for the Seattle Mariners gave the kids some tips, answered questions and signed autographs. “It was a fun afternoon,” Billy Rodgers, the Athletic Director of the club says.

And kids can put the skills to good use. Sign-ups for the Boys & Girls Club spring baseball season start next Monday, February 8th. The co-ed teams range in ages from kindergarten to 4th grade and include rookie teeball, teeball, rookie machine pitch and machine pitch.. The cost is $60 plus $15 for club membership. The season runs from the beginning of April through mid-June. More information can be found at the Boys & Girls Club website.
