Fundraising for the Big Climb for Leukemia

On Sunday, March 21st, Ballardite Reba will be climbing 1311 steps (that’s 69 flights of stairs) for the Big Climb for Leukemia. The trouble is, “I’m getting a bit desperate to finish my donation quota,” she writes in the forum. The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is hoping to raise $1.4 million, breaking the $1.3 million raised in 2009.

Reba writes, “I’ve had a number people in my life affected by Leukemia, so its not just me ‘raising’ money for a charity for no apparent reason. This is one that has actually affected me on a personal level. I don’t normally raise money for charities in this manner, just this one. So again.. I appreciate any and every donation and or good thought that comes my way.

As I train for this event in the Ballard building on market (124 steps btw), I think about all the friends and family that I’ve known and know that have been affected by this. At times its what gets me up those stairs during training, thinking ok.. this set of stairs is for.. so and so. That makes me move faster. ”

  1. My Ballard readers were so generous when my son had his lemonade stand for my Breast Cancer 3 Day, I hope that Reba gets the same generosity! I'm headed over to make a donation now!
