Watch the fish migrate upstream at the Locks

Looking for a weekend activity? Salmon have started their upstream migration through the fish ladder at the Ballard Locks. Friends of the Ballard Locks tell us that the fish ladder is open and sockeye are already making their trek. Artist Gabriel Campanario (aka Seattle Sketcher) stopped by the other day and sketched this drawing of a local fisherman checking out the salmon. The fisherman tells Campanario that the best time to see the salmon will be in two to three weeks. You can see more of Seattle Sketcher’s work on his illustrated journal page of the Seattle Times.
