Ballard cartoonist debuts new book this weekend

In an appropriate setting, Ballard illustrator and cartoonist Darrell Toland along with Wedgwood author Max Holechek will debut their new children’s book, “Edsel McFarland’s New Car” at the Greenwood Car Show.

Although this is a book coined for kids ages 4 through 8, Toland says it’s geared for the whole family. “The book can be enjoyed by the whole family, because it tells a story on multiple levels,” Toland says, “Kids will love Edsel’s action-packed adventure, while parents will enjoy the subtle gags crafted just for them.”

During Saturday’s car show, Holechek and Toland will be in the Kid Zone at Booth #85 teaching kids how to draw cars, doing book signings and readings. The book will be available for $15.

  1. My 4 year old son and I went over and picked up a copy. Max and Darrell couldn’t have been nicer! They both signed the book for my son and chatted with him for a bit. The book is great and I highly recommend it for boys or girls!
