Seahawks Coach Pete Carroll coming to Ballard

After spending time pushing his new book in New York, New Jersey and California, new Seahawks Coach Pete Carroll will be making a stop in Ballard this weekend. His recently released motivational book has already made it onto the New York Times bestseller list.

Carroll was recently on King5’s daytime show New Day Northwest. Here is the segment:

Here is the synopsis of Carrol’s motivational book, “Win Forever. Live, Work and Play like a Champion“:

Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll’s powerful leadership advice that is just as effective for your business and community as it is on the football field

Pete Carroll is one of college football’s most successful coaches. He is also one of the smartest and most philosophical. He calls his coaching approach “Win Forever” and preaches it not just on the field, but to local kids and business audiences in the offseason. While his book has plenty of behind-the-scenes stories featuring some of the most famous names in sports, it’s really about Carroll’s immensely effective approach to leadership. He shows readers how to:

* Develop a vision that others can internalize and take a stake in
* Embrace competition, not competitiveness
* Practice so that game day is the easiest day of the week
* Learn to play in the absence of fear
* Make the conflicting pulls of “what you want” and “who you think you are” one and the same

Carroll takes his philosophy well beyond the football field, whether he’s organizing anti-gang rallies or chatting with at-risk youth in LA’s inner city neighborhoods. Win Forever holds valuable insight for coaches, executives, teachers, and leaders of all kinds. As Carroll says, “Winning forever is realizing your potential and making yourself as good as you possibly can be. Realizing that is a tremendous accomplishment, whether it’s in football or in life.”

Carroll will be signing books at the Ballard QFC (5700 24th Ave NW) starting at noon on Saturday.
