Cupcake-it-forward in Ballard

Quite a few customers at Cupcake Royale (2052 NW Market) got a sweet treat earlier this week.

“Coolest dudes ever!” The Cupcake Royale Facebook page states, “These lovely gentleman just came in to our Ballard cafe, threw down a one hundred dollar bill, and told our baristas to buy the next customers who walked in the door their coffee and cupcakes until the hundred was gone. Wow! You guys rock!” (Thanks John for the tip! Disclosure: Cupcake Royale is a sponsor of MyBallard.)

  1. That is really so cool…so sweet. Wow! This is the kind of story I like to read about. Anxiously awaiting restraint from the trolls.

  2. I bet they're an all dudes Mars Hill community group. Just look at the mix of ages and such- totally a Mars Hill community group.

  3. But what I'd like to know is: was each individual cupcake baked with tiny parchment in the center disavowing any support for the Ballard Chamber of Commerce…?

  4. Yes, there should be a disclaimer on the cupcake. In fact, I want disclaimers on everything I buy in Ballard. Bike Trail Über Alles!

  5. or you could just go to the BCoC web site where you can look up any established business in Ballard to see if it's a member? Or if you have a question about a specific business you don't see listed, you can just call the business or the BCoC and ask if they are members.

but neither you nor Pho/Foodie/Phoodie/doug11 will do that, you'll just continue to be lazy and ask MyBallard to do the work for you

  6. I was kidding. The hijacking of every comment section by the narrow-minded bike trail fanatics has become so tiresome that I now mock them.

  7. this would've been 'sweeter' if it was just one or two guys.
when you bring a dozen buddies with you, it kind of loses it's shine. after a cupcake and coffee for your ten friends, was there really any change?

  8. But you're missing the point that the $100 was after they'd paid for their orders. So it didn't go towards their stuff, but all $100 went to the people that came after them.
