Man says he was attacked with baseball bat

We’re learning about an attack last weekend that apparently involved a baseball bat. According to the police report (registration required), officers were called to the 2600 block of Market Street just after midnight on Saturday (8/14).  When police arrived, a man was on the ground being treated by a fire crew.

The victim told officers he was attacked by a group of five men who hit him with a baseball bat.  The victim didn’t remember much other than that.  Fire crews treating the man believed he had facial fractures.  The man’s face was extremely swollen and he had bruises on his chest and stomach.  Officers found several empty cans of beer near the scene and took them into evidence.
