Veterans Day reminders

Here’s a look at what’s open and closed on Veterans Day:

  • Schools – Closed
  • Post Office – Closed and no mail delivery
  • Government offices – Closed
  • Most banks – Closed
  • Metro Transit – Running on a reduced weekday schedule
  • Library – Closed
  • Parking – Free. You don’t have to pay to park on city streets that are metered.

    • Don’t forget that veterans, active military and military spouses who have loved ones deployed can get free car washes at Brown Bear Car Wash (5111 15th Ave NW) and Dicks Drive-In is offering free burgers to vets.

    King’s Hardware (5225 Ballard Ave NW) is giving a free order of fries to anyone who shows their military identification today from 4 to 11 p.m.
