The owner of the Tractor Tavern (5213 Ballard Ave NW) is opening another bar and restaurant in Ballard. The Blue Glass (704 NW 65th St) officially opens at 5 p.m. today in the old Tigertail location.
Owner Dan Cowan says that he and his partner, Patti Bellafato, “like to think we have created a casual but classy and cozy neighborhood restaurant, offering what we are calling global comfort food, featuring small plates and full entrees.” The Blue Glass will be open 5 p.m. to midnight Sunday – Thursday and 5 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. Friday and Saturday.
Also on this stretch, look for the Ridgeback Cafe to open in a week or so in the old Renick Printing location at 500 NW 65th St.
Ahhh so that’s what’s replacing the Tiger nextdoor to the Dray.
This is fabulous. This neighborhood needs a place like this!
I heard the dray made a play for to expand into the space. That would’ve been great.
Looking forward to seeing their menu.
I dont really eat food that often, but i like to drink. welcome.
UGHHHHH. Another bar. Drunk Drivers! No strollers! AGHHHHHHH
The food is delicious! The pickled veggies go very well with the crafted cocktails. The pork shant is to die for!!
Be sure to “view source” on their web page:
You curious little minx! You’re hear because you’d like to know more about our restaurant, aren’t you? We’ll have photos and menus and more for you very soon.
Yeah, they seem to have been commenting in and out various things they thought they might want to say, and they goofed up and missed an end-quote, hence the odd characters and the sentence fragment.
I think this reaches the level of “worse than no website at all”. Looking forward to checking the place out, though — I don’t mind if my web designers are lousy cooks, so I suppose I can deal with vice versa.

What does dealing with Italian erotic poetry have to do with the food or the website?
Hahaha! No strollers!
This place really is classy and cozy and the food was delicious. Now they just need a happy hour and they’ll be my new favorite hangout.
