Nearly a year ago, the play equipment at Salmon Bay School was removed after a piece fell off and hit a student.
Now the steering committee is working on a new design for the playground and is reaching out to the community for help. The goal of the project is to design an “innovative playground which would serve kids with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), as well as all kids ages 5-12,” Robin Wise Loftstrom writes in the calendar submission. “Our sports field and playground are already important community assets – help us make them more so.”
The first design workshop will be held on Saturday, January 22nd from 10 a.m. to noon at Ballard First Lutheran Church. You can learn more about the project here.

Plant some grass and give them a ball….
