‘Mean mugging’ leads to alleged road rage incident

A 24-year-old man has been charged with felony assault for allegedly attacking a driver near Ballard High School in a road rage incident last month, SeattlePI.com reports.

The news site cites charging documents filed by King County prosecutors, which state that Lereiko L. Gray stabbed a passenger in another car after a verbal exchange. “The man looked at Gray and noticed Gray was ‘mean mugging’ — slang for angrily staring — at him, Seattle Detective Dana Duffy told the court. The man then rolled down his window and asked Gray what his problem was,” SeattlePI.com reports. “Both men exited their cars and a fight ensued, Duffy told the court.”

As we reported in February, the 23-year-old victim was driven to Swedish Ballard by his friends and then transported to Harborview Medical Center with stab wounds.

  1. Mean muggin’….ahhh, the glories that is hip-hop culture.

Chimp is right, simian behavior at its worst. Someone call the zoo.

  2. It goes without saying if somebody is behaving in a hostile manner, ignore them. If they continue to behave hostilely, drive to a safe place and if necessary call 911.

  3. It takes fewer muscles to smile than to frown! Turn that frown upside down!

If they don’t like that, you can say, “It looks like somebody has a case of the Mondays….”

  4. OK, the actual incident happened in February. The whole story would have been clearer if it was headed with “Update” and included the timeframe in the lede.
