It was one of those beautiful days at the Market.
Big crowds came out to enjoy the sunshine and peruse the food, arts, crafts and flowers from a full display of vendors.
But the big attraction was a local group of Morris dancers. With bells on their legs and sticks in their hands, the centuries-old English folk dance dazzled the crowd with a traditional May 1st celebration.
Then one of the most bizarre sights we’ve witnessed at the Market appeared: “Mirror Man,” which literally, is a man covered in mirrors, head to toe. Sunlight glinted off his suit, casting a symphony of lights on the ground.
As he walked silently around the market, he caught several people by surprise. By the way, Mirror Man has his own Twitter and Facebook accounts, just in case you’d like to catch him at another event.
Musicians were out in full force, playing 50 feet apart from each other.
And the flowers are in bloom. Perhaps optimistically, it signals the start of spring (finally!) here in the neighborhood. Hope you had a great weekend!

Oh come on Swedes if you can’t make fun of morris dancers, who can you poke fun at? Totally unfair censoring of a good old joke….

Why do morris dancers have bells?
So they can annoy blind people too.

These are the fattest, Morris dancers I’ve seen.

As far as I’m concerned, you have to be a stone cold badass to be a Morris dancer. Stone. Cold. Badass. No way could I do it.

Too much self-respect? you know why they wear bells? So they’ll even annoy blind people.
