Ballard honey man is ‘VISIONary of the Year’

Corky Luster, the man behind the Ballard Bee Company, has won the AMD VISIONary of the Year award.

“The VISIONary Award winners, selected from a wide range of candidates in an online, public vote, demonstrate exemplary use of technology to innovate in three popular areas of human passion – entrepreneurship, food and photography,” according to the announcement.

As the winner in the food category, Luster takes home a $20,000 prize. “The award money will go to apiary expansion and am currently looking to opening a retail space for bee keeping supplies and running my apiary business out of,” Luster tells us. (Photo courtesy Dave Schiefelbein)
