Filming continues for ‘Fat Kid Rules the World’

Ballard continues to be the backdrop for the film “Fat Kid Rules the World.”

As we mentioned earlier this week, the cast and crew of “Fat Kid Rules” – and all their trucks and trailers – were spotted at The Sunset Tavern. We’ve now learned that filming will continue on Thursday and Friday.

According to the permit, filming on Thursday and Friday includes interior shots of BalMar (5449 Ballard Ave NW), an actor walking in front of Vera’s (5417 22nd Ave NW), an actor sleeping in the doorway of the New York Fashion Academy (5201 Ballard Ave NW) and an actor parking a car near The Loft (5105 Ballard Ave NW).

Parking barricades will be set up on parts of NW Market Street, 22nd Ave NW and NW Ione Place. The production trucks are scheduled to arrive at 7 a.m.

From our earlier post from the film’s Facebook page:

TROY BILLINGS (played by Jacob Wysocki) is fat. His life sucks. He’s about to end it all by jumping in front of a bus, when MARCUS MACRAE (played by Matt O’Leary), a charismatic punk rock superstar, tackles him to the ground and changes his life forever.

Set against the backdrop of the Seattle music scene, FAT KID RULES THE WORLD is a coming-of-age story about two dysfunctional teenagers searching for something more out of their completely hopeless existence.

The movie is directed by Matthew Lillard and is expected to be released next year.
