Officer injured after burglary suspect tries to run

Early this morning, neighbors woke up to a lot of sirens. According to police, an officer saw a burglary in progress at a business in the 9700 block of Holman Road. When the suspect saw the officer just before 5 a.m., “he tried him over with his SUV.” We’re assuming “to run” is left out of this sentence, which is on the blotter.

Other officers in the area picked up the suspect as he drove away and was stopped on NW 64th Street and 30th Ave NW, police say. “The suspect tried to run but was immediately taken into custody,” the blotter states. “One officer suffered a minor leg injury.” (Thanks Ivan for the tip!)
