Queen of Norway opening with Po Dog

Back in October we wrote that Po Dog hot dogs was opening in the old Market Street Traders space at 2014 NW Market St. Along with the popular hot dog joint, Chris Pardo and Laura Olson are opening a restaurant in that space called Queen of Norway.

“My family has been living in the Ballard area for over 100 years. In my grandmothers 20’s she was crowned the Queen of Norway during one of the parades in Ballard,” Pardo tells us. “I remember her telling me the story when I would visit her. She was an amazing woman who was ahead of her times and was a true free spirit.”

When the restaurant opens in either January or February, the menu will include mostly tapas and small plates

Pardo tells us that the upper level will be an events space for local dj’s on the weekends, corporate parties and birthday parties. Downstairs will be an intimate speakeasy-type club for 40-60 people to enjoy craft cocktails and wine.
