The Ballard girls basketball team took on Skyline at home Wednesday night. The older Spartans team was too much for the younger Ballard team. Skyline came out with some hot shooting making their first 7 shots in a row before finally missing. On the other side the Lady Beavers were cold most of the night only shooting 30 percent from the field. The Spartans opened a 10 point lead after 1 quarter but the Beavers fought back in the second quarter cutting the lead down to 8 points a number of times. The Spartans came out shooting hot again to start the second half and finished with a 65 42 victory. Ballard took better control of the ball Wednesday night committing a season low 14 turnovers. Ballard was led in scoring by sophomores Cailey Beckett with 15 points and 9 rebounds, Nancy MacGeorge with 11 points and 11 rebounds, and Beverly Verduin with 8 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists. The Lady Beavers play again Friday night at Garfield.
