Tonight at Egan’s Ballard Jam House, the Ballard Writer’s Collective will put on a new live event called Ballard Out Loud. The event will feature storytelling, off-the-cuff. Ingrid Ricks from the Collective writes, “This isn’t your typical event where authors read from their books. This is completely different.” For this event, you’ll hear stories – without notes. “No books or lecterns for the speaker to hide behind,” says Ricks. “And these stories are all new, based on unpublished material – so even our existing fans will be surprised.”
The Collective hopes this will be the first of many Ballard Out Loud events; they want to feature five or six writers each month. There’s no cover for the event, and it starts at 7 p.m.
