Just in time for summer, Cupcake Royale is expanding and officially offering ice cream at all six cafes. They’ve been offering ice cream sporadically over the past few months, and are now announcing the launch of their own brand of ice cream, appropriately called Cupcake Royale Brand Ice Cream. Their new location is at 108 Pine Street, and is opening on Saturday, June 30 with the launch of the ice cream.
The cupcakery will offer “Cupcakes ‘n’ Cream” ice cream as a signature line, and will have many other flavor combinations they say will have, “unique and delicious inclusions, all baked in-house.” Some of the flavors include Whiskey Maple Bacon Crack (bacon brittle) made with locally produced Woodinville Whiskey and Zoe’s Meats bacon; Bananza, made with roasted banana, homemade gooey brownie and caramel; Burnt Caramel with Sea Salt; Blueberry Lavender; and Washington Hazelnut Brittle with Salted Ganache.
In a press release, owner/founder Jody Hall says it’s a “natural pairing…add delicious artisan espresso to the mix and it’s an amazing trifecta.” They’ll have 14 flavors of ice cream, homemade ice cream sandwiches, and Cakeshakes and Babyshakes which will include either a cupcake or babycake. The flavors of ice cream will be on a seasonal rotation.
The cafe downtown opens on Saturday, but until then, they will be operating their ice cream cart in front of the new cafe daily from noon to 8 p.m. The Ballard, Capitol Hill and Bellevue locations will have scoops, cones, shakes and sundaes to their menu. All other locations will have grab-n-go pints of all ice cream flavors, plus ice cream sandwiches.
