A man and woman are at Harborview Medical Center with life-threatening injuries this morning after what police are calling a domestic violence shooting in Ballard. The shooting happened around 1:30 a.m. at an apartment in the 1100 block of NW 54th Street.
A witness, the female victim’s daughter, told police that her mom’s ex-boyfriend showed up and opened fire on her mom and mom’s friend, police say, striking them multiple times. The daughter was able to give police the suspect’s name and vehicle information to officers, who immediately set up containment. The suspect was spotted near the I-5 on-ramp, near NE 50th Street, and was eventually stopped near I-5 and S. Michigan Street after additional units arrived. He was taken into custody without incident.
The homicide unit is investigating this crime.
