For all you night owls and early birds out there: the Ballard Bridge will be closed from 11 p.m. Saturday night through 7 a.m. Sunday morning. All four vehicle lanes and one sidewalk at a time will be closed to traffic while Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT) crews work on replacing streetlights.
SDOT says crews will temporarily relocate the traffic signals on both sides of the bascule (operating) portion of the bridge to enable the replacement of the poles to which they are attached. “During this closure, SDOT crews will temporarily relocate. Another bridge closure is planned in a few weeks for returning the traffic signals to their current position, attached to the replacement poles which will have new LED lights,” according to SDOT.
