One northbound lane will be closed today as the work to upgrade the lighting on the Ballard Bridge continues. The lane will be closed until 2:30 p.m. while crews remove poles, according to the Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT). They expect lane closures on Friday as well.
SDOT says that when the bridge opens for marine traffic at the same time a lane is closed, significant backups can occur. “Drivers are advised to plan ahead and allow extra time for their trips, or when possible take an alternate route.”
The lighting upgrades are expected to be completed by October.
