Tony’s Coffee Bar expands yet again

All summer long, Tony’s Coffee Lab on the corner of NW 70th St. and 3rd Ave NW has been offering coffee tastings on Fridays, and recently announced their plan to open to the public as a coffee shop with limited hours. They’ve made their official hours for the fall, which will be 7 a.m. to noon Monday to Friday, and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to noon.

David Yake from Tony’s says they’re the “one-stop shop for coffee geeks, or those who are looking to further explore the wide world of cofffee.”

From Yake:

Our goal is to provide dependably great coffee, while also demonstrating how easy it can be to brew a great cup of coffee at home.  We are perfectly happy with losing a customer to home brewing – although they can still come and see us for fresh whole bean coffee!  We even offer customers a free cup of their choice with every whole bean or brewing gear purchase.

Our menu reflects our love of fresh, seasonal coffees.  To make every cup taste as good as can be, we prepare all of our drinks to order.  This can take anywhere from 2-4 minutes for our hand-brewed coffees, but we find it’s well worth the wait.  And we couldn’t be happier with the feedback we’ve received from the neighborhood in our first two weeks.

For tea drinkers in the neighborhood, we have a variety of whole leaf offerings from local tea-maker, Choice Organics.

Our selection of brewing supplies is ever-growing and includes, Clever Dripper Cones, Aeropress Coffee Makers, travel mugs, filters, kettles and grinders.

We are continuing to offer free public cuppings every Friday at 12noon.  This is a great chance for people to discover the endless flavors to be found in coffee and partake in the daily ritual of roasters, green coffee buyers and producers the world over.  We are also looking forward to offering brewing classes to the public as we receive in new coffees.
