A judge has reduced bail for an attorney accused of raping and sexually assaulting several employees of massage clinics, including the Carnation Chinese Massage Clinic at 602 NW 85th St. in Greenwood.

The King County Prosecutor’s Office says Danford Grant’s bail was lowered from $3 million to $1 million.

But prosecutors added another charge of rape in the first degree, for an alleged assault last summer. Granted pleaded not guilty to that charge. He pleaded not guilty to the previous charges two weeks ago.

According to charging documents, Grant approached a Seattle massage clinic employee as she left work, told her he was a police officer and ordered her into the passenger side of her car. Grant then allegedly drove her car to a secluded spot, ordered her into the back seat and raped her.

KING 5 has video from the courtroom this morning.

Grant is accused of sexually assaulting massage therapists in Seattle, Shoreline and Bellevue. He will be back in court on Nov. 9 for a case setting hearing.
