Ballard Organics Soap founder Ben Busby-Collins has passed away

Local businessman Ben Busby-Collins, founder of Ballard Organics Soap, passed away in Everett on January 19th, aged 38. He was well known in the community for his business that closed in July 2011.

Ben will be remembered for his work in the community and his passion for politics and nature. He showed this care through his donation of 1,000 gallons of Ballard Organics liquid soap to help clean animals during the 2010 Gulf Oil Spill. Former customer Barbara commented that she, “loved his kind and present energy. The world is a little less bright without him.”

At this stage the cause and manner of death are unknown.

Ben was a family man who was born in Kansas and grew up in Chicago, Colorado and Oregon. He attended Southern Oregon University before founding Ballard Organics Soap Company in 2005. Ben is survived by his wife, Yvette Sanchez, and children, Jacob and Sophia and his large extended family.

Ben’s funeral service will be held at the Evergreen-Washelli Funeral Home on Saturday, February 2, at 10 a.m.
