Anchors Down officially drops its anchor in Ballard

The newest addition to Ballard’s bar scene, Anchor’s Down (2016 NW Market St), is now open for business. The  bar officially opened its doors last Friday and is ready to serve up delicious drinks and signature Po Dog hot dogs to locals.

The new bar is the joint venture of Amy Graeff, manager of Capitol Hill spot Grim’s and Christopher Williams, general manager and co-owner of Capitol Hill sports bar Auto Battery. Po Dog owner Laura Olsen will also be a silent partner in the business venture. Check out our initial post on Anchors Down when the opening was announced last month.

Employee Troy Hedrich told us that Anchors Down will be serving up the drinks from 4 p.m. – close everyday. Happy Hour will take place from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. Monday to Saturday and all day Sunday. In terms of the menu, Anchors Down will feature the same gourmet hot dog menu as neighbor Po Dog including favorites the Deep Fried Danger Dog, the Seattle Dog and the BLTA Dog. The hot dogs will be served through a window (pictured) between the two businesses.

We took the snap shots yesterday afternoon to give readers a first look at the nautical themed bar. Check out more photos on our Facebook page here.
